page-DIPADiversity in Public Appointments, is an independent organisation. Its purpose is to promote diversity in public life by guiding and supporting individuals from previously unrepresented groups to successfully apply for Public Appointments.
DiPA provides a personal advice and support service for individuals applying for a Public Appointment. It also offers consultancy for businesses interested in supporting Public Appointments as part of their company’s work/life balance initiatives or implementing ‘investors in people’ HR policies. We also help organisations source a wider pool of diverse talents for non-executive and board appointments. DiPA recognises that while there are places individuals can go for advice there isn’t a dedicated organisation providing a comprehensive service of practical assistance and encouragement, and it’s frequently difficult for certain groups (including those at risk of social exclusion), to easily access and successfully compete for public appointments and community leadership roles. We promote business cases for organisations to encourage employees to undertake public appointments and committee leadership roles, as part of talent management and corporate social responsibility objectives. With a core team of professionals DiPA aims to improve gender, ethnic, disability, age and socio-economic balance in Public Appointments.
